The Melbourne Road to Bethlehem ran a few days ago. It is a dramatised presentation that celebrates the coming of the Christ as Savior to the World.
FOUNTAINS
Several years ago a man reported a vivid dream following his attendance at ‘the road..’. He said, “We were in the midst of an outpouring of the gifts in that season, so dreams, visions and ‘words’ were not uncommon. In the dream there was a platform on which were drinking fountains. One faucet emitted pure water. Another offered beer. Another gave out hydrochloride acid while another gushed forth petrol.
NOXIOUS
The point of the dream was that there is but one Gospel of the Kingdom – not several. One that produced Living Water and variations that produced poisonous liquids. The non- water faucets emitted degrees of toxicity. We can agree that the beer tap would be the most harmless while the acid and petrol liquids would be the most toxic.
The meaning of the images is not complicated. One is the water of life – the pure Gospel of Jesus and the apostles. The other fountains were liquids -but a variation. Beer might dull the senses/intellect only slightly. The other would be extremely debilitating or fatal. We need more than ‘a faith.’ We need life and truth.
It matters what kind of gospel we embrace. The pure Gospel of Jesus and the apostles is Christ come in our flesh. This is the water faucet of living water that always makes us more than we were. The other faucets, images of toxicity and death illustrate that there is one Gospel of the Kingdom – not several, and that any alteration however small is anti-spiritual and anti-life. It pays to rightly interpret the word of God.
